What got me started?
A bad marriage 6+ years ago. Oh well, no need to go there. But about a year ago I was thinking about refinancing my house. Where I work at could pull credit scores so I had mine pulled. It was a lot worse than I thought and it was a few items on my report that I had no idea who it was or thought no way I owed that much. With such bad credit I started doing some research on the net and I'm glad I did. After about a month of having my credit scored pulled, I got a summons on my door. It was from Midland Credit suing me. I had no idea what it was. I had never heard of them. But I did my homework and got them to drop the case. Within a couple of weeks, I had another summons, this one from Capital One. I won that case with the statue of limitations. Then a third, LVNV funding. I won that similar to the way I won against Midland, asking them to prove it. You just got to know the way the system works. I really got a big surprise while I was sitting in court, listening to the cases that were before me. I saw a lot of people get judgments against them that they could have won the case and not have a judgment on there credit report. Another surprise, after getting the debt collectors to drop there cases in court, it did nothing for my credit. All items stayed on my credit report. That's when I studied repairing my credit.
